Better Lock screen Touch ID display thanks to the LockGlyph Upate

By | December 10, 2014

I’m personally a great fan of all lock screen tweaks available over on the iOS 8 jailbreak, which was also one of the main reasons why I decided to try out LockGlyph, which advertised itself as a great Cydia tweak, capable of improving the way that Touch ID looks. Howevr, LockGlyph was not very well-received when it was first released. The goal of the app is to animate and provide sound to the Apple Pay authentication. At first it was clunky and show and couldn’t be customised enough. Fortunately, it has now been updated and is hence considerably better.LockGlyph-1024x895

So what is actually new in the app? Firstly, it is a lot faster, as the horrible lag has been removed. You can even speed it up more if you want to. Secondly, you can customize the glyph’s colour now with RGB sliders. It applies to both the scanning and idle glyp. Plus, you can use hexadecimal colours as well, so you can really make it look the way you want to. This is really rare in jailbreak tweaks. Additionally, you can also move the animation itself which is another big plus for the tweak that can make it more and more popular. Another interesting feature is that you can decide what the X and Y axis values should be, placing the glyph where you want it to be.LockGlyph-Settings-1024x908

But there’s more as well! You can easily reset everything to default, shine and tick animations and take the sound off if that annoys you. What’s even better is that the Cydia tweak is also quite easy to use, as users will have to go into a nice settings menu from where all of the modifications that have been mentioned earlier can be made without encountering any difficulties.

Clearly, evilgoldfish101, the developer of the app, listened to criticisms and improved on it. LockGlyph went from a pointless and unusual app to one of the best Cydia tweaks around. And best of all, it’s free and downloadable via Cydia’s BigBoss Repo.

Have you tried this interesting Cydia tweak out until now? If yes, what did you think about it? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section below.
