Customize your iOS Home Screen with Anchor

By | January 29, 2015

Are you sick and tired of the basic home screen layout that iOS users from all around the world are stuck with by default? While many turn to Android in order to help solve this problem, where users are free to customize the layout of their home screen, it turns out that there is also an interesting solution that Apple fans can adopt in order to help them personalize their iOS devices more, known by the name of Anchor.

Anchor is basically an interesting Cydia tweak that allows people to begin rearranging the aspect and layout of the Home Screen as soon as the app has been installed. To get a better sense of what it does, it might be wise to look at the name which basically implies that applications will not be magnetized to one another and that you will be able to move them around freely without encountering any issues.Anchor-Top-1024x748

With this in mind, once Anchor has been installed, users will find a preference panel over in the stock settings app with a couple of different features including the ability to enable and disable the Cydia tweak, but also to view and reset the Home Screen layouts that have been set. Additionally, users also get the possibility to customize the layout for each page in particular, which means that you won’t be stuck with the same default Anchor layout for each of the pages.

One unfortunate fact is that the Cydia tweak, Anchor is available over on Cydia, on the BigBoss repo for $1.99, so there is a purchase that needs to be made. However, if you’re serious about having the ability to customize the actual layout of your iOS 8 jailbreak Home Screen, then that would most probably make it worth the two bucks that it costs.
