Widgets Are Finally Coming to Reachability with WidgetCenter

By | February 23, 2015

Reachability has been one of the hottest features of the new iOS, offering users a chance to keep their phones usable with one hand even with the expanded screen sizes of the newer devices. Even developers are excited, with more and more Reachability-related jailbreak tweaks and add-ons being released to Cydia.

Reachability has not only done a great job in making the iPhone more usable, but the feature has also encouraged a larger number of people to switch to iOS. However, there are still many things that need to be done in order to improve the feature and the appearance of widgets and Cydia tweaks like this is definitely a great step in that direction.WidgetCenter-2-1024x907

By nature, Reachability does not support widgets. It creates a much cleaner user interface so that users can comfortably operate their phones and access important features. This is about to change, however, now that WidgetCenter is officially released on Cydia.

Available as a jailbreak tweak, WidgetCenter allows users to access their widgets even in Reachability mode. You have the ability to change certain things about how the widgets are displayed, including the positions of the widgets.

The tweak also comes with four default widgets: WCTime, WCControls, WCSwitcher, and WCMusic. You can organize them to your liking and keep your iOS devices very personalized. Depending on the features you use the most, you can also make WidgetCenter disable some of the default widgets if necessary.

To activate widgets when invoking Reachability, you will have to be in an app. Switching to Reachability mode from the home screen will only show the standard Reachability view.
