Finally It Has Happened: Forcy Adds the 3D Touch-inspired Gestures To All of Your iOS 9 Devices

Forcy is a completely new jailbreak tweak, one of the first brand new tweaks made for the iOS 9 jailbreak. So what does it do? It allows you to actually enable 3D Touch-inspired gestures on any iOS 9 device that you may own. The gestures themselves, which are considerably similar to what you’d find on any 3D Touch-enabled devices such as the recently released iPhone 6s, allow you to take make use of the Home screen app icon shortcuts which were made popular on Apple’s most recently released iPhone hardware.

Forcy can be obtained right now completely for free on Cydia’s BigBoss repo. Don’t wait and get it right now – you don’t want to miss out on this wonderful opportunity.

Once Forcy has been installed on your device, there are really no settings or options to configure as such. To  actually use the tweak, you simply need to perform a swipe-up gesture on a compatible Home screen app icon. Icons compatible with Forcy include (and are limited to):

  • Messages
  • Calendar
  • Camera
  • Clock
  • Wallet
  • Notes
  • iBooks
  • News
  • Phone
  • Safari
  • Mail
  • Game Center
  • Contacts
  • Find Friends

As can be clearly deduced, Forcy is not really a straightforward emulation of a true 3D Touch, as that requires special hardware underneath the screen for to actually detect pressure of your touches and swipes. Instead of that, Forcy relies on a simple swipe gestures to actually invoke its shortcut menus. All in all, it’s all very similar to the look and ‘feel’ of real 3D Touch, even down to the animations, but it’s still not the true rendering of 3D Touch, and it doesn’t feature the haptic feedback that makes the feature so impressionable.

Howver, Forcy is a major attempt at bringing older iPhone users closer to the current-generation experience. The tweak lacks certain of the stock shortcuts found on the 3D Touch-enabled iPhone 6s. There’s a good chance that this tweak will see future updates to bring it even closer in line with what’s available on the new iPhones. The wave of apps that have a clear intention of making the older models feel like the brand news is still ongoing, and there’s nothing stopping it, much to our great delight.

Have you tried Forcy yet? What did you think about the experience? Please share your thoughts in the comments section below.
