Sadly, this jailbreak is of the tethered king, but putting aside the initial trouble you’ll go through, that amount to much for something like a set top box that’s almost always powered on.
FireCore has pretty much quietly released a beta update to Seas0npass. This means that the final version is at 0.9.7. This update works with OS X El Capitan and Apple TV 2 firmware 6.2.1 (iOS 7.1.2).
As a matter of interest, the crew at FireCore actually decided to bypass updating their blog, where all of their previous jailbreak stuff is contained. However, they did post an update to their Seas0nPass tool on GitHub. You can find the download for Seas0nPass 0.9.7 via our downloads page. We still don’t know what is the reasoning behind such move, but it may be that FireCore wants to keep the entire thing under the rug, for reasons known only to them. Only time will tell.
