MorePredict displays more predicted words on iOS 8 keyboard

By | November 24, 2014

One of the major new features of iOS 8 is that it now displays word predictions above the keyboard allowing you to choose any as you type. However, some users wish that the keyboard displayed more word predictions rather than three. This is why a new jailbreak tweak known as MorePredict emerged on Cydia recently to fix this problem.

Developed by PoomSmart, the Cydia tweak allows you to choose the number of word predictions that you want to be displayed on the keyboard rather than the default word count of three. On smaller screens such as the iPhone 5 or the 5s, we recommend that you go with 6 word predictions, but on larger devices such as the iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus, you can go even higher. The tweak works with both the portrait and the landscape mode.

With that said, the MorePredict adds a new preference pane to the stock Settings app where you can choose the number of word predications you want to appear on iOS 8 keyboard as well as adjust the spacing or the gap between each word.

Although the tweak works nicely, some users have reported that some predicted words will appear almost every time on iOS 8 keyboard which is something that the developer should consider fixing. I wish there was also an option to adjust the empty spacing that is above and below the word predictions to make the prediction bar smaller, but it’s not a big issue, it’s just a matter of taste.

If you’ve been looking for a way to configure the amount of word predictions appearing on iOS 8 keyboard, I’ll definitely recommend that you give this jailbreak tweak a try. MorePredict is available on Cydia’s BigBoss repository for free of charge.
