By | October 24, 2014

The Pangu team recently released the jailbreak for iOS 8 and 8.1 devices, which was quite unexpected to be released so soon. Although it doesn’t install Cydia, you can install it manually on your device by following the guide here.

However, if you haven’t jailbroken your iOS 8 device yet, you can do so by following our step-by-step guide below. Keep in mind that the jailbreak currently provides SSH access only and you are required to install Cydia manually. Even if you do so, you’ll still find a lot of tweaks that are not yet compatible with iOS 8 so be prepared for disappointment.

The progress of the jailbreak will also appear on the bar as well as the percentage of the progress. Once you’re device has been jailbroken successfully, you’ll view a new icon on your screen called Pangu. You can install the SSH app from Pangu, but we recommend that you don’t mess around with it if you don’t know how it works.
