One of the quick ways of controlling a currently playing music from anywhere within iOS is from Control Center. Everest is a brand new jailbreak tweak that allows you to take control of the music playing on your device directly from a banner that appears at the top of your screen.
With Everest, whenever you start playing a song, you can invoke the tweak via an Activator gesture which displays a notification-like banner at the top of your screen allowing you to play/pause the currently playing song or skip to the next one or go back to the previous track by swiping right or left on the banner.
Once you install the Cydia tweak, head to its preference pane from the stock Settings app to control it. From here, you can enable or disable the tweak via the kill switch toggle, choose an activation method as well as enable app shortcut which allows you to open the Music or the Spotify app when you tap on the Everest banner.
Along with this, you can enable Spotify support, enable having Everest banner appear when the song changes as well as show the Album Artwork. With all this said, the tweak works with both the Music app as well as the Spotify app.
If you’ve been looking for an alternative way to control your Music other than Control Center, I’d definitely recommend that you go ahead and give this tweak a try. The music banner can be invoked from anywhere within iOS even when inside an app.
