The Status Bar provides a bunch of information which can be viewed from anywhere in iOS. These range from time, Wifi/3G, carrier to battery percentage and network signal. One of the information that is missing is weather. StatusbarWeather7 is a jailbreak tweak that has been on Cydia for a long time and adds the weather information to your Status Bar. Although there are many cydia apps similar to this tweak, this one is by far the best.
It places the current weather information of your local place right on the Status Bar allowing you to take a quick peek without opening the stock Weather app. This said, it only displays the current weather temperature with an icon of the weather condition.
Once you install, a new preferences pane will be added to the stock Settings app dedicated to StatusbarWeather7. From there, you can enable or disable the cydia tweak via the kill switch toggle, enable ‘Auto Fetch WOEID’ or ‘Custom WOEID’. If the former is enabled, the cydia tweak automatically fetches your current location from the stock Weather app, otherwise you’ll have to enter your location ID manually.
The remaining options allow you to choose the temperature unit, update interval of weather information as well as replace the carrier logo with StatusbarWeather7.
The cydia tweak is quite handy if you want to quickly find out the current weather condition of your location without venturing into the stock Weather app. It works smoothly as advertised and is something I’d recommend you to try out if you regularly keep an eye out on your local weather condition.
