The iPhone 6 Plus has a number of advantages compared to the regular iPhone 6. The main one, however, is that the screen automatically rotates to landscape when you use your SpringBoard. Additionally, devices that use tweaks like Upscale or LittleBrother can also use auto rotation.
However, not everybody likes this feature and it seems like many actually find it annoying, me included. Luckily, it seems like there is a solution for it, as it can be achieved by downloading the jailbreak tweak Notate, which is a brand new Cydia tweak that is quickly rising in popularity, thanks to its one, but important feature which allows you to switch off or switch on the automatic home screen movement, that the iPhone 6 Plus is known for.
Once you have installed Notate, it is fully configured straight away. Hence, you don’t have to go through any options or settings. It will immediately switch off your Home screen rotation feature, even if your rotation lock toggle has been enabled in your personal Control Center. The tweak does not affect those apps that support rotation and only works on the home screen. It would be really nice if it would also have the feature to control which apps should go into landscape mode, as I personally don’t really like browsing Chrome or Safari in landscape mode, but I guess that we’ll have to wait a bit more time for the next update.
If you are one of the many who do not like automatic screen movements, then Notate is perfect for you. It takes up almost no memory in your phone, it is very easy to use and it does what it is designed to do. Best of all, it is a free to download in Cydia’s BigBoss repo.
Based on everything that has been mentioned so far, what do you think about the app, but also about Apple’s decision to not implement a setting where users could decide whether they would like to have a landscape mode or not?
