Normally, when you press the forward or the backward button in the Music app, the song starts to go forward and backward at a slow rate and the playback speed starts to increase gradually over time. SpeedChanger is a brand new jailbreak tweak that allows you to configure the playback speed.
The tweak adds a new button next to the playback button in the Music app that allows you to adjust the playback speed. The speeds that you can choose include 0.5x, 1.0x, 1.25x, 1.5x, and 2.0 so that you can move a song forward or backward at a faster or a slower rate rather than having it speed up gradually as you hold the playback button.
Once you’ve changed the playback speed, it will now apply immediately. You’ll first have to pause the song and play it again for the new playback speed to take place. The speed will then be applied to all songs that you play afterwards.
That’s all the tweak offers and once you’ve installed it from Cydia, there are no settings to configure. All you have to do is to head to the stock Music app and you should notice the new playback button after you start playing a song.
As you’d expect, SpeedChanger is available for free of charge on Cydia’s BigBoss repository and works on both iOS 7 and iOS 8 devices.
