Music lovers everywhere have been waiting for a jailbreak tweak like Impulse. Thanks to Noeliel, users can now control their music even when their phones are locked. With a simple gesture on the screen, the phone doesn’t need to be unlocked, yet you can control your music just as if it were.
With more than five different movements, you can play or pause the song you’re listening to, turn your music up or down and skip to the next track or move back to the previous one. The gestures are as follows:
- To play or pause a song, tap the screen
- To increase or decrease the volume, swipe either up or down on the screen
- To move to the next or previous song, swipe either left or right on the screen
You can change the settings on the preference panel once you’ve downloaded this Cydia tweak. You can turn Impulse on and off, and you can also set the threshold for the time which it is idle. This means that it will disable automatically after a certain time. The good thing about this is that it prevents too much battery life being used while Impulse is not actually being used.
“Secure Tap” is just one of the features of Impulse, and it was introduced to prevent users accidentally making gestures to the phone. You will need to tap the screen first and then make the gesture. In the settings area, you can also configure the app and have a look at a wide range of options available to you.
There are no problems with Impulse which have been found thus far, although you might want to experiment with how much battery life is used. If you’ve ever found yourself annoyed at having to unlock your phone each time you want to adjust your music, this is definitely a tweak to check out.
Have you ever tried this iOS 8 jailbreak Cydia tweak out? If yes, what did you think about it?
